In an outstanding season, the Kepler Volleys finished first in the 3rd Landesliga Ost after 12 wins from 14 matches. In the Final Four on 6 April in the Georg von Peuerbach sports hall, the two best teams from the Eastern and Western league played for the two promotion places. After Union Mühlbach clearly beat UVC McDonalds Ried im Innkreis 2 3:0 in the first match, things got serious for the JKU team.

The Kepler Volleys got off to a good start and were able to put McDonalds Supervolley Wels 1 under pressure right from the start in the first set, winning the set 25:19. The second set was characterised by long series of points on both sides. In the end, a real thriller unfolded. The team from Wels fended off four set points before the Kepler Volleys managed the decisive break to win the set 29:27. However, McDonalds Supervolley Wels 1 became stronger and took the third set by a clear 25:17. The fourth set was again very close, but in the end the Kepler Volleys secured the 3:1 victory by 25:23 and thus a place in the final. (Match details)

In the regular season, the Kepler Volleys had narrowly won both matches against Union Mühlbach. This time with their best line-up, Union Mühlbach started strongly and won the first set by a clear 25:15. In the second set, the Kepler Volleys were able to stabilise, but again had to chase a deficit from the start and were unable to prevent the set loss (21:25). The third set was evenly matched and everything was open until 21:21. In the end, however, the Kepler Volleys also lost the third set 21:25 (Match details).

All in all, it was a great season for the Kepler Volleys, which was crowned with 2nd place in the Final Four. The big goal, promotion to the 2nd national league, was thus achieved. In autumn, the newly founded women's team will also start in the league.
